Following a recent revitalization, the newly reimagined Galleria at the Garlands is a multi-purpose focal point and neighborhood hub. From its integrated, open-concept design to its enhanced comfort and functionality, the Garlands Galleria invites community and offers members and their families a place to enjoy a cup of coffee, chat with neighbors, and simply chill.
Garlands members love it . . . and they aren’t the only ones!
Environments for Aging (EFA), the industry’s premier source of insight, information, and inspiration in senior living design, honored The Garlands with a bronze medal in design for the repurposing of the Galleria at the Garlands. Reviewed by a jury of industry experts, award recipients were chosen from a pool of submissions from across the country. EFA jurors commented that The Galleria at the Garlands is, “a wonderful example of modernizing a space while keeping the original aesthetic of the existing community,” and noted that, “the care <they took> in listening to the residents is important, and the end product looks amazing.”
The award-winning design is a testament to The Garlands commitment to reinvestment and its members’ comfort as well as the creativity and expertise of the design and construction team, including Garlands Interior Design Services Manager Cindy Baldocchi, Eppstein Uhen Architects, and Pepper Construction.
“Post pandemic, community and comfort emerged as an even higher priority for all of us,” says Dawn L. Kempf, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “Revitalizing our space helped us adapt to our members’ ever-changing needs, foster community and more.”
