The Garlands of Barrington’s New Director of Hospitality
A career healthcare and hospitality professional, Nancy served in many seniors housing capacities, including activities, social services, sales, marketing, administration and operations. Prior to The Garlands she oversaw new construction, hiring and leadership training and developed the assisted and independent living side of a family-run, Illinois- based organization that operates fifteen older adult housing communities.
“My passion has always been listening to the customer, defining an unmet need and creating a team and program to bring relief and joy to the customer,” says McCaffrey who entered the profession having cared for her grandparents, one of whom had Alzheimer’s Disease, as a teenager.
So what does “hospitality” mean to Nancy?
Nancy says it is the feeling that a member or visitor has after an encounter with staff or a services that makes them feel special and significant. “Hospitality is knowing our members’ personal preferences and executing on them on a routine basis.” She adds, “Hospitality for our team members is also something we strive to provide for each other, so we feel appreciated and valued, knowing that our efforts make a difference in the lives of others.”
Nancy looks forward to meeting all our members in person . . . hopefully SOON!
