A guy like Garlands Member, Sam Jeffers, who, for example, designed warheads for the Pershing II and Trident weapon systems, is unlikely to sit around watching movies all day during a global pandemic. As soon as he saw PPE shortages on the horizon, Sam set about engineering effective, comfortable, cool, and good-looking face masks for family and friends.
When Lynn Adams, The Garlands Director of Activities, went to Scootie and Sam’s apartment to take a photograph of him in action, she also learned that, by the way, he created the marquetry art displayed on their wall. These are not photographs, but rather portraits made of inlaid wood! Sam carves different veneers to achieve the light and dark values that make up the finished pieces (pictured below).
Is there truly no end to this man’s talents?
