The Garlands hires kind, outgoing, and caring personalities, trains for service, and treats their team members as a part of the family. As such, some of The Garlands first dedicated team members remain proud to serve Garlands members today.
Meet Brygida Radzioch, Garlands Housekeeper
When Brygida first interviewed for her housekeeping position, the Executive Director asked her why she wanted to work at The Garlands. “I told him, ‘because it is BEUATIFUL!’” Twenty years later, it remains so today, partially due to Brygida and her colleagues’ efforts.
“I am proud of my team—my girls. We have a very good leader, and we are very good housekeepers and very professional ladies.” In fact, the team became the first senior living community in the nation to earn “White Glove” test certification. But, in addition to their skills, attention to detail, and public health savvy, Brygida knows that Garlands housekeepers offer so much more.
“We meet with members in their home once a week, so we form relationships and help support them,” says Brygida who fondly remembers one member, since passed, with whom she shared an affinity for Diet Coke and Chopin. “Mrs. Wicklund would play Chopin piano solos for me, and we’d sip Diet Cokes and chat while I cleaned for her and her husband.” Her voice cracks as she explains,“We had a connection.”
It’s because of those relationships that Brygida says,“I feel that my work is important here, and I have beautiful memories, which is why I stay.”
