For the fourth year in a row, Prairieview at The Garlands has earned the U.S. News 2022-2023 Best Nursing Homes distinction.
This year Prairieview is among the elite 16% of skilled nursing centers that earned a “High Performing” rating, the highest possible achievement. This rating evaluates the quality of post-acute care for patients recovering from a hospital stay, such as after a stroke, heart attack, infection, or accidental injury.
U.S. News Best Nursing Homes ratings are based on an in-depth analysis of publicly available data, including ten quality measures that focus on staffing, medical outcomes, resident complaints, and care processes. U.S. News used scientific literature reviews, discussions with industry experts, and statistical modeling to select these measures. Similar to, but different from, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid star ratings, the U.S. News ratings recognize that patients undergoing relatively short-term rehabilitation have very different needs from those who require longer-term care.
“We take great pride in offering Garlands members top-quality short-term rehabilitative care that is conveniently located right on The Garlands campus,” says Dawn L. Kempf, Vice President, COO & CCO, The Garlands of Barrington. “The U.S. News annual recognition reflects the consistently high quality of care our Prairieview team members continuously provide daily.”
