Ron and Phyllis have what he calls “a good run” . . . that is to say, Phyllis kept him running since they met as high school freshmen! After 65 years, she is still the love of his life.
Ron says, “We came to the Garlands three years ago when I knew Phyllis might need a little more help. We’ve made tremendous new friends. We live a lucky life.”
When Phyllis moved to Prairieview at The Garlands, Ron visited with her every day to hold hands and fill her in on family news. During COVID-19, the lovebirds continued to meet up – initially on video chats and now outdoor on the patio.
Between visits, lifelong fisherman Ron heads to the Lake Julian Trout Farm Big Pond in Cary, IL where he fishes catch-and-release to his heart’s content. As he casts and reels them in, he thinks fondly about the good life he’s made and the good things that have come his way, most especially his beautiful sweetheart Phyllis—a pandemic is no match for true love!
Happy 65th Anniversary, Phyllis and Ron!
