His and her offices are the perfect fit for Richard and Dorothy Winsor, two scholars with doctorate degrees in their respective fields.
Be YOURSELF
In their Garlands home, each spouse has space – in the home as well as in their relationship – to be him or herself and follow their own individual passions – along with plenty of encouragement.
A longtime English Professor at Iowa State University, Dorothy retired to pursue writing fiction. Since then she’s published three young adult fantasy novels with a fourth book in press.
While building John Deere tractor diesel engines, Richard, an engineer, accumulated 25 patents and earned the prestigious John Deere Fellow Award for his meaningful work to reduce emissions.
Today, Dorothy writes her books and blogs at local coffee shops and belongs to the Barrington Writers’ Workshop. Richard plays bridge with several area groups and attends lectures. Together they enjoy Garlands wine club gatherings and social dinners.
While Richard and Dorothy may go in different directions, their paths always lead them back to each other at The Garlands – where they can be themselves.
